More than $1.5 million has been raised throughout the event’s history
OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland Athletics raised $112,245 at today’s 18th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day, presented by Zevia. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Prevention Institute of California.
More than 350 Bay Area breast cancer survivors formed a symbolic human pink ribbon on the field before the game, followed by the release of white doves, which served as a symbol of hope. The team also presented the 13th annual
“Gift of Faith” grant, in memory of longtime KTVU Channel 2 reporter Faith Fancher, to the Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center.
Over the event’s history, the A’s have raised more than $1.5 million for breast cancer research, education, advocacy and free services. Breast Cancer Awareness Day is presented by Zevia and supported in part by Athena bottled water, Sutter Health, Drake’s Brewing Co., State Roofing Systems, Comerica Bank, Nelson Staffing, and BDA.
