GIANTS WELCOME ROCKIES AND DIAMONDBACKS TO TOWN

SAN FRANCISCO, California. - The World Champion San Francisco Giants return to AT&T Park for a six-game homestand against the Colorado Rockies, May 6-8 and the Arizona Diamondbacks, May 10-12.


On, Friday, May 6, the Giants will celebrate Willie Mays’ 80th birthday. Mays will be honored during a special pre-game ceremony. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Willie Mays Statue Replica presented by Bank of America. The National Anthem will be performed by world renowned trumpet and trombone player Mic Gillete. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. with gates opening early at 5:00 p.m.

On Saturday, May 7, fans are invited to come out to the ballpark early to watch some of the world’s best skateboarders perform at the Thrasher Magazine’s 30th Anniversary Ramp Jam, presented by Vans Shoes. This free event starts at 3:00 p.m. and is being held on Terry Francois Boulevard close to the Willie McCovey Statue. Some of skating’s biggest names are scheduled to perform, such as Tony Hawk and Santa Rosa’s own Tony Trujillo.

In addition, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Giants World Champion Commemorative Canvas Print presented by Kettle Brand on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Gates to the ballpark will open early at 3:50 p.m.

On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, See’s Candies Giants World Champion Tote Bags will be handed out to the first 20,000 fans in attendance. The Giants will honor Jennifer Solorio, the local winner of the MLB Honorary Bat Girl program during a pre-game home plate ceremony. In honor of Mother’s Day, kids and moms can run the bases following the game. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. with gates opening early at 10:50 a.m.

After the game CSN Bay Area will premier Legends: Willie Mays, a one-hour long documentary celebrating the centerfielder at 4:30 p.m. The feature will focus on Mays’ early life in his hometown of Westfield, Alabama to his time at the Polo Grounds in New York, from playing at The 'Stick to being immortalized in a statue at the corner of Third and King Streets at Willie Mays Plaza. The documentary celebrates “The Say Hey Kid” and features an in-depth, comprehensive interview with Mays as he discusses his life and times around the game.

The Giants wrap up their homestand with a three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks, May 10-12. On Tuesday, May 10, the Giants will celebrate Chinese Heritage Night with the S.F. Hep B Free Campaign. It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN will host Chronicle Live from Willie Mays Plaza.

Wednesday, May 11, Ligo Brand Sardines presents Filipino Heritage Night at AT&T Park. Fans will be treated to a pre-game Filipino cultural performance. The Giants will also celebrate Thank a Teacher Today, where they will pay tribute to the teachers in the San Francisco public schools for their professionalism, dedication, and hard work on behalf of our City’s youth.

The Giants will host the San Francisco Unified School District’s AAA Baseball Championship game immediately following the Thursday, May 12 contest against the Diamondbacks. Fans are invited to stay and watch.
