Earthquakes Announce Their Comcast SportsNet Television Broadcast Schedule for the 2011 Season
SAN JOSE, California -- The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that Comcast SportsNet (CSN) will again televise a minimum of 16 Earthquakes games in 2011 in High Definition. Ten games will air on Comcast SportsNet California, five games on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and one on Comcast SportsNet Plus.
“We are proud to once again offer our games in High Definition on Comcast SportsNet,” said Earthquakes President David Kaval. “Comcast SportsNet has been a great partner the past three seasons and we are looking forward to another great season of Quakes soccer on their networks.”
The Quakes broadcast schedule begins on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area with their home opener against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, March 19. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT.
In addition to the 16 games on Comcast SportsNet, the Quakes also have four national television broadcasts to bring their total number of television broadcasts to 20. All matches will also be available on the MLS Direct Kick Package. Additional games may be added to the CSN schedule at a later date.
Comcast SportsNet California Vice President and General Manager Larry Eldridge added, “The Earthquakes have one of the most passionate, dedicated fan bases in the MLS and we are committed to presenting them with comprehensive and exciting Quakes coverage all season long.”
The partnership will also include appearances by Earthquakes players and coaches on Chronicle Live and coverage on both SportsNet Central and SportsNet Reports.
The broadcast booth will remain the same this year as long-time Northern California announcer Jim Kozimor will join John Shrader for all Quakes games, while Dan Dibley will serve as the sideline reporter.
Shrader, who has been the voice of the Earthquakes either on radio or television since 1996, maintains the color analyst role.
