SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed forward Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson. Per league and team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Gonzalez, 20, was born in San Jose but moved to Mexico at age 12 to join the Necaxa club team. At 14, he was a full member of their academy squad. The crafty striker worked his way to the first team in 2012, but opted instead to pursue a roster spot with the Earthquakes. He suited up for San Jose during the 2013 preseason, scoring a pair of goals in the club’s first game, a 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo on Jan. 29 in Tucson, Ariz.
