Earthquakes Shine Spotlight on Fans in 2017 Billboard Campaign
The Forward As One campaign features Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders alongside players
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes introduced Thursday the 2017 Forward As One billboard campaign in the Bay Area.
The billboards, which feature Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders and players celebrating together, embody the club's Forward As One slogan, showing that the organization, team and fans are unified as they enter the 2017 season.
The Quakes invited select season ticket holders to participate in the photo shoot to capture images for the campaign. The fans will also appear in more Quakes creative assets throughout the 2017 season.
In addition to the billboards, the campaign consists of transit ads, a full VTA Light Rail wrap and street signage. The introduction came in conjunction with the unveiling of the Earthquakes 2017 primary kit and two weeks before the Quakes start the 2017 regular season.
The Quakes will kick off the season on Saturday, March 4 at 6:45 p.m. against the Montreal Impact at Avaya Stadium.

Earthquakes Unveil 2017 Primary Kit
Quakes to debut black jerseys on opening day vs. Montreal
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes and adidas today unveiled the team's new primary kit for the 2017 season.
The Quakes' stunning new threads feature a primarily black color scheme for the first time since 2013 and combines the past, present and future in its composition.
The sleek design concept and lightweight construction allows the players to perform without resistance and the adidas logo and MLS Crests are heat applied for maximum player comfort. The kit also features the best of adidas technology with an engineered Adizero back panel for player comfort and temperature regulation.
A black and master blue layout with gradient diagonal to horizontal pattern, derived from the club's crest, brings a completely fresh look to the team. It features blue adidas stripes on the shoulders and a blue ribbon around both sleeve cuffs. The right sleeve has the team's three pillars-Unity, Devotion, Heritage-written in white, and the SJ74 word mark is printed in blue as a jock tag on the left side. The inner neckline also has a red stripe as a nod to the team's past.
The shorts are black with blue adidas stripes running down both sides. The socks are also primarily black, but feature blending hoops and the SJ74 word mark in blue. Player names and numbers are a bold white, which pops off the kit's black base.
The 2017 kit is now officially available for purchase, with all Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders receiving a 20% discount.

De carreras con las 6 Horas de Bogotá
Sábado 3 de diciembre, 2:00 P.M.
* Pilotos de Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina, Panamá y otros países formarán en la grilla de partida.
* Oscar Tunjo intentará mejorar su actual récord de pista (1:01.261)
* Prácticas y clasificaciones el viernes anterior durante todo el día.
* Autos de Calle y la Copa Nissan March serán teloneras de la gran jornada.
La carrera más importante del calendario nacional, las 6 Horas de Bogotá Mobil 1 Motor Motorcraft, corre su edición número 31 el sábado 3 de diciembre por la pista larga del Autódromo de Tocancipá, girado en sentido anti-horario.
Es considerada la prueba reina de nuestro automovilismo y desde su creación siempre ha tenido en la grilla de partida a pilotos y autos de otros países afines a la competencia, que en su rico historial reseña los triunfos de equipos de América y Europa en varias oportunidades, siendo el más reciente el de los ecuatorianos los Miguel Villagomez, Xavier Villagomez, Juan J. Rivera y el costarricense José Moltalto, en un auto Radical SR3 1.5, el mismo con el que ganaron este año las 6 Horas de Yahuarcocha, en Quito.
La versión de este año pretende reunir unos 60 autos en las seis categorías previstas en el reglamento de la prueba, en su mayoría de Colombia, pero con unas interesantes inyecciones extranjeras en la grilla con pilotos de Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina, Panamá y otros países que están en vía de confirmar su asistencia.
Las prácticas oficiales y las dos tandas de clasificaciones (diurna y nocturna) serán el viernes 2 de diciembre desde las 8 de la mañana, ciclo que determinará el orden de partida del sábado. Ese mismo día, es muy posible que el vallecaucano Oscar Tunjo pretenda mejorar su actual récord de pista de 1:01.261 impuesto en 2014, a bordo del vistoso West del SRT, que acabó con la hegemonía de Juan Pablo Montoya, 19 años atrás de 1:02.077
Junto a Tunjo estarán, posiblemente, varios de los pilotos nacionales que corren en el exterior como Andrés Méndez, Carlos Muñoz, Gustavo Yacamán Jr., Tatiana Calderón, Gabby Chaves, Sebastián Saavedra, Jhon Estupiñán, entre otros.
El Club Los Tortugas en asocio on Autódromos S.A. sigue trabajando en todos los aspectos inherentes a la organización, y ya se conoce que la categoría Autos de Calle (aspirados y turbos), de gran proyección en el pasado CNA y la Copa Nissan March oficiarán como teloneras de la gran jornada automovilística.
Los recientes coronados campeones del Nacional de Automovilismo han confirmado su asistencia y serán protagonistas muy importantes en cada una de sus categorías, donde habrá un frente de batalla incuestionable con rivales de gran capacidad y reconocida trayectoria. Igualmente, llegarán autos que no salieron de los garajes en todo el año, pero que la carrera los convoca por su atractivo e interés local e internacional, para lo cual terminan sus ajustes técnicos, como también lo hacen las tripulaciones cuya conformación sigue siendo un tema milimétrico en algunos casos específicos.
Michelin oficiará como la 'Llanta Oficial' para las series de Súper Turismos, mientras que Ford Motorcraft tendrá presencia en el pánel de patrocinadores oficiales junto a Mobil 1 y la revista Motor de El Tiempo. Igualmente, el canal Claro Sports Colombia de Claro Televisión hará cubrimiento especial de toda la carrera, a partir de la 1 de la tarde. Otra marca que se vincula es Refiantioquia Combustibles obsequiando una buena cantidad de combustible a cada auto participante que clasifique y forme en la grilla de partida, que se armará desde las 12:30 del día.

A’s Trade IF/OF Danny Valencia to Seattle for RHP Paul Blackburn
The Oakland A’s have traded infielder/outfielder Danny Valencia to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn, the club announced today.

Valencia hit .287 with 17 home runs and 51 RBI in 130 games with Oakland this year. He started 66 of the A’s 89 games before the All-Star Break at third base, but his post-break starts included 36 in right field, 15 at first base, four at designated hitter, one in left field and one at third base. The 32-year-old right-handed hitter batted .304 with 12 of his 17 home runs and 34 RBI of his 51 RBI before the break compared to .266 after the break. Valencia joined the A’s Aug. 3, 2015 as a waiver claim from the Toronto Blue Jays and hit .286 with 28 home runs and 88 RBI in 177 games in an Oakland uniform. He is a .271 career hitter with 72 home runs and 303 RBI in 656 games over seven seasons with six different teams.
Blackburn began the year in the Chicago Cubs organization and went 6-4 with a 3.17 ERA in 18 starts with Double-A Tennessee before he was traded to Mariners organization on July 20 with Dan Vogelbach in exchange for Mike Montgomery and Jordan Pries. He was assigned to Double-A Jackson and went 3-1 with a 3.54 ERA in eight games (seven starts) with the Generals. The 22-year-old right-hander combined for a 9-5 record and a 3.27 ERA in 26 games overall and surrendered just eight home runs in 143.0 innings. Blackburn ranked sixth in the Southern League in ERA, was a midseason All-Star and started and won the clinching third game of the SL Championship Series for Jackson. A graduate of Heritage High School in Brentwood, Calif., Blackburn was selected by the Cubs as a compensation pick following the first round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft and was the 56th selection overall.
